In addition to these "traditional" Probate matters, the Monroe County Probate Court also holds concurrent jurisdiction with the Family Division of the Circuit Court. Accordingly, the Monroe County Probate Judges also handle:

The Monroe County judiciary shares resources through a concurrent jurisdiction plan that saves taxpayer dollars. The Monroe County Probate Court and Family Division of the Circuit Court carries an extremely busy docket. Both Judge Frank Arnold and Chief Judge John Hohman Jr. remain on call 24/7 to issue emergency removal orders to remove children from abusive home settings.
